Background of the Project

105.117 acres of land was purchased from Radio Bangladesh with a view to create exclusive infrastructural facilities for the outdoor shootings of Bangladeshi films. Bangladesh Film Development Corporation, being the only self-sufficient institution responsible for the development of the local film industry, did not have any suitable location for facilitating shootings of outdoor sequences. Therefore, our film industry will be further promoted and expanded through the completion of Zia Film City, a location with various natural facilities in favor of outdoor shootings.

At present, film makers need to travel remote places of the country to shot outdoor sequences. This is very time-consuming, expensive and risky at the same time. The primary objective of this project is to integrate natural facilities in favor of outdoor shootings that will enhance the standard and appeal of Bangladeshi films.
