Functions

I. At present, the corporation performs the following activities in facilitating the making of full-length movies:
1. Providing floor facilities (including camera and light) for shooting
2. Supplying all kinds of raw films
3. Providing editing facilities
4. Providing facilities for dubbing, background music, re-recording, sound transfer etc
5. Providing facilities for film developing and printing
6. Providing manpower and equipment for outdoor shooting
II. Besides this, FDC undertakes various development projects in order to modernize the film industry by adopting newer technologies.
III. FDC provides raw materials and services of a price value equivalent to 1 (one) million only for the films that are aided by the government.
IV. The corporation also participates in various film-related activities at home and abroad

Facilities: Brief Description of Technical Departments that Facilitate Film Making

I. Floor & Set
Number of Floors: 9 (Presently Used: 7)
Number of Make-up Rooms: 14
Number of Attached Store-rooms: 12

II. Camera & Light
Arrey-II C: 7
Arrey-III C: 3
Arrey 435: 2
Arrey 435: 1 (Presently in Faulty Condition)
Besides these, two II C & three III C high speed cameras and 5 zoom lenses have been hired for present use. Five Chinese cameras are also in stock but these have scarcely any use these days.

VI. Raw Films & Chemical
FDC imports necessary amount of raw films for the making of films. Then, the selling price is determined after imposing 10% of the buying price as the service charge. On an average, raw films equivalent to the value of BDT 150 to 160 million are imported every year. In addition, various chemicals equivalent to the value of BDT 10 million (approx) are imported every year for printing films in the laboratory.
