Facilities & Regulations

At The Advent Of Making:

Bangladesh Film development Corporation provides film makers with any kind of service, technician and raw film as necessary for their work. But as stated earlier, producers have to be registered in any of the following four categories to avail these facilities. An agreement is usually signed between each producer and the corporation after the a certain amount of security money is deposited.

I. Normal Film:
Under this condition, the producer has to deposit an amount of BDT one hundred thousand (100,000) as the security money. By virtue of this agreement, the producer gets in credit the entire service from the shooting phase to the censor print development in the provision that the developed negative of the film will be mortgaged to the corporation. But the producer belonging to this category is supposed to buy the necessary raw films from the corporation in cash.

II. Semi P-Film:
According to this procedure, the producer has to deposit an amount of BDT two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000) as the security money. By virtue of this agreement, the producer gets in credit a certain amount of raw films and the entire service from the shooting phase to the censor print development in the provision that the developed negative of the film will be mortgaged to the corporation. The amount and price of films allocated for the producers belonging to this category are described below:

III. P-Film: According to this procedure, the producer has to deposit an amount of BDT four hundred and thirty thousand (430,000) as the security money. By virtue of this agreement, the producer receives the entire service from the shooting phase to the censor print development in credit in the provision that the developed negative of the film will be mortgaged to the corporation. The amount and price of films allocated for the producers belonging to this category are described below:

IV. Cash Purchase: According to this procedure, the producer does not require to deposit any security money to the corporation. Rather, the entire amount charged for the services and raw films has to be paid in advance. In case the charge for any service is increased, the revised bill is duly submitted to the producer during the process of film making.

During The Release

When a film receives the clearance certificate from the Censor Board after the making, the producer(s) asks for some 15 to 20 copies of final print for exhibition in theatres. In this regard, the producer(s) has to pay in advance a minimum of BDT one hundred thousand (100,000) against the value of raw positives to be used. The requested copies of the final print are delivered to the producer(s) only after the entire dues to the corporation is cleared in terms of Cash or Bank Guarantee with the validity of 90 days at least. But in case of cash payment, the producer(s) is rebated 10% of the service charge. The defined Value Added Tax (VAT) is supposed to have deposited to the government treasury by this time.
